Easter

I love Easter Sunday and my girls are at the perfect age to really enjoy this holiday. We had 2 bunnies move into our backyard for the week, so Braelyn was thrilled to actually see the Easter bunny. Braelyn and I even dyed 30 eggs! Though it went pretty quick with her because she was plopping them in the dye and pulling them out faster than I could keep up. Braelyn woke up very early (as usual) but I had warned her not to get into anything until we were all awake, she was so excited that I finally let her get her basket and we waited for Berkley to wake up. As soon as Berkley came out of her room she noticed the eggs all around. Braelyn has never been very good at finding the eggs, but Berkley knew exactly what she was doing and found about twice as many as Brae did! After breakfast Kevin snuck outside to hide the real eggs and it was so hot that day that the eggs were wet and a little muddy. I am used to wearing coats for the egg hunt so that was new. Again Berkley was focused on her task and buzzed around the yard scooping them as fast as she could while Braelyn sort of wandered by until we would point one out to her. We enjoyed watching conference and eating candy and I even made a big Easter Sunday dinner. We usually roll our Easter eggs down a hill as tradition but since there are no hills in Georgia, the girls and I threw them into our drainage overflow. This may have been my favorite thing we did, we started out slow throwing the eggs back and forth until they exploded but then Braelyn got a little crazed and started grabbing eggs 2 at a time from a container and throwing them furiously until they were gone. It was such a good energy release I may boil a dozen eggs each week and let her go at them. Berkley decided to eat the egg after she had thrown it at the ground and plopped the entire yolk in her mouth before I could stop her. Then the girls decided 2 of the eggs were their babies and they carried them around the yard giving them kisses and rocking them to sleep.
