Staying Home

I wish I was finding more time to write, but I am now officially done with work, so hopefully I will. I have had 4 wonderful days home with Braelyn and I couldn't be happier about that. It is so nice to not be rushed and to be able to do some fun things during the day. She talks incessantly, and I only understand about 50 % of what she is trying to say. She loves to tell everyone Hi, Bye and Thank you. Her new favorite game is to scare me, and sometimes she does a pretty good job and actually getting me. She still asks for Munga's house everyday, but we've seen them everyday so she has been spoiled. She wants to spend all her time at the playground or outside playing in water. At this point I just try to keep up with her. She has been in really good spirits and she is so patient with all the changes going on in her world. She really just wants to be a part of the party, and then she is happy. I get a little sad when I think about having to divide my attention from her, I truly am so enthralled with what she does and how quickly she is growing. I have just watched her sleep this week, and remembered when she was first born. She is beautiful and she really jsut wants to have fun and be happy, and wants everyone around her to be happy. She is such a blessing to me.
I went to the doctors yesterday and was not excited after my dissapointing visit last time. My induction was scheduled the Friday before Memorial Day but that conflicted with plans so I asked that it be moved up 2 days and the nurse told me that they would not do that because I would not be 39 weeks, so I had to schedule it the 27th, 4 days later! I was upset because I am nervous about this baby being bigger like Brae was and I did not want any longer. I was also frusterated with myself, because I know it is better to wait to have the baby as long as possible. I wish I was tougher, but I have a difficult time being pregnant. So going into to the appt I was pretty down trodden, I had been to the hospital 4 days before on a Saturday because I had an infection and when the nurse checked me I was closed at 0 cm. But when Dr. Watabe checked me I was 2.5 cm and 70% effaced! I was pretty elated because that meant the baby was getting ready and that I probably wouldn't have wait for that induction. I also talked to the doctor about my back pain. I did want to, because I did not think there was wanything he could do, but Kevin had insisted that I bring it up. It has been getting more severe and sometimes I can't put any weight on my leg, or I have difficulty stading up by myself. The physical therpait Kevin works for, said I am just too loose in my hips and too pregnant to be able to do much more excercises with it. When I told the doctor, he agreed that there is not much to do at this point, but that it is enough of a reason to be able to induce me, especcially since I was satrting to dilate. He said if it is still bothering at next weeks visit we will just do that! I was really happy to hear that, and to feel like he understood what I was going through. It was a boost that I really needed, just knowing the end is in sight.
Kevin had expressed to me before that he would be so busy this semester, but I have still felt like I have to fit the pregnancy in around his schedule, so I am ready to be a little busier with a newborn, so I won't feel like I am bothering him so much. I just wish we could get our condo taken care of. We have 2 walk-thrus tommorrow. Yea!

Long Morning

Braelyn and I had all day with nothing to do, so I decided we would run to the mall. I had a coupon for a free maternity picture and thought I could do that, and run to Deseret Book. We had an hour wait for pictures so we walked around Build-A-Bear, Braelyn loved looking at the different stuffed animals and dancing to the music. Then we walked around the Disney store, and she was so excited to see Mickey, and she named all the characters, and picked out a Mickey sippy cup to carry around. She was so good, and listened so well that I thought the day was going to be great. I had to use the restroom so we asked someone where the closest one was, and she decided to throw a fit. She started wriggling around so I put her on the ground and she bolted away from me and I had to chase her through the jewelery store and down the walkway, while she laughed the whole time. I finally caught her and hauled her to the bathroom, then we we stepped out she ran away again. I was so mad by the time I caught her, she didn't want me to hold her but if I put her on the ground she would go limp and cry and I would be dragging her. I wish she understood that we aren't playing when she runs away from me at the store. We went to Deseret Book and I got a new baby book, while Braelyn pulled out 5 handbaskets and spread them all over. Then she insisted on carrying one with the book even though it was bigger than her.

We finally got the pictures done, but I realized why I don't like pictures of me pregnant, because I looked huge in all of them. I always just get the free picture, but they always try and sell you hundreds of dollars of stuff and I hate that.

Day at Home

I thought it might be easier for me to write things on the computer, because I haven't been too great at journaling on paper. Today I am off work and have been able to spend the day at home with Braelyn. I truly love being with her. She is such a joy, and has such a sweet spirit. She has been her busy self today, but has been very easy to be around. I found her out on the couch this morning when I woke up singing. She loves to say good morning and it is my favorite thing to hear her tell me, "Morning, mama." And she always has a huge hug in the morning. We went and got a drink and got her a sucker after breakfast. She likes to jump down the stairs outside our condo, and she jumped to high this morning and bumped her head on the rail. After we get down the stairs she always wants to run to the car, and I have to try and keep up. It is nice that she can walk on her own now and just hold my hand cause she is getting so big, but I still carried her upstairs because it was cold and windy and I don't want her to get chilly! She has a fleece hat with a pom-pom on top and chin strap, and whenever she puts it on she says Ho, Ho, Ho. It cracks me up every time. She looks so adorable with it on. We had pancakes for breakfast and she calls them Minnie Mouse because Munga made her one shaped like Minnie a long time ago, and she remembers everything. I just adore her and can't believe how quickly things go by.

On the other hand, time being pregnant seems to just stop. I know I need to wait so the baby can keep gorwing and be healthy, but I can't wait until I am not pregnant anymore. I just get bigger and bigger, and now my scrubs barely fit. People always feel the need to comment on pregnant women's bodies (I have no idea why) and though most are nice, I just wish people would keep their thoughts to themselves. I know that I am big, and I know that I waddle. I'm not pointing out their bodies. Oh well. This baby still has no inkling of a name, but we started talking about it last night, Kevin even wanted to search names with me which was nice of him. I guess he was up late with Braelyn. He always takes his turn, which is nice because I always feel sleep deprived. It has been a huge struggle lately, getting Braelyn to sleep. We aren't very consistent because we hate to see her upset, and we don't put her to bed early because we want playtime after work. I hope we can work on that after I am done working, which will be in 1 month! Yea for me, I am so excited to stay home! We are also potty training and have had lots of ups and downs with that, but I think we are headed for the better part. I am so greateful my mom has been willing to stick with it, she has had to clean up a lot more accidents than I have, and I think we would be back in diapers if it weren't for her help sticking with it. She is so supportive of everything I do as a mom, I am very lucky to have that kind of support because a two-year old can be exceptionally challenging.

I am nervous about our condo now, I wish we had a crystal ball and could tell if we should rent it or get out now. We haven't had much luck, but I had an agent tell me today that the market has improved 25% this week. It is hard to be agressive about getting anything done when I am pregnant, (I would have made a terrible pioneer) but I think if we get really serious we can be out by April. I try and not get emotinal about it, but it is really hard to think about leaving here because it is where we have spent most of our married life and where we have raised Brae, I just have to remember that the experiences, not to mention my family, all come with me wherever I go.

I better go, I have spent too much time figuring out these computer things today!
