Halloween

This was the first year Braelyn kind of understood Halloween, so we were very excited. I got to go help at her preschool party, and we decorated cookies, sang songs, and got to be in a costume parade. She was going to be a cheerleader, but we found a Snow White dress my mom had made for us when we were little, and it was all over after she saw that. She pretends to be a princess everday, so to have a dress was very exciting for her. We left for trick-or-treating pretty early and she made it all the way down the street and back. She was kind of shy at the door, and after they would give her candy, she would pause and look at it, and usually they would say, "Do you want another too?" Then she would say thank you, and they would give her another one for that! We had to stop and empty the bucket halfway, because it was full. She had a princess bucket and we kept asking if we could carry, because this is the child who tells us her shoes are too heavy to carry to the door, and she would not even let us touch it. She was very protective of her candy. She saw a boy dressed like a skeleton and after staring at him for a minute decided he was scarey and jumped off the porch into my arms, but the boy took off his mask and talked to her so she was okay. Kevin wanted to take her to a few more houses while I stayed with Berkley to hand out candy, but one of the houses had lots of decor and she got very scared and kept talking about it, so we decided it was time to head home.
